How OhanaLink Technologies™ is Helping Social Care Organizations Improve Delivery of their Services Through Technology

As a woman-owned technology development company and a mission-based organization, OhanaLink Technologies™ has committed to developing social care mobile tools that positively impact communities. But why has OhanaLink Technologies made it its mission to tackle this challenge of introducing and improving technology in the social care space?

The COVID-19 pandemic stressed the critical need for improvements in technology for social care organizations across the United States. Historically, non-profits have been underserved and lack technology due to several factors, including:

lacking

  • A lack of investment
  • A lack of strategic tech talent
  • A lack of infrastructure

According to a survey by NetChange that analyzed technology use by nonprofits, only 11% viewed their organizations’ approaches to digital as highly effective.

Realizing that 89% of non-profits could benefit from improved technology was the key driving force for OhanaLink Technologies to enter the social care space. As a result, OhanaLink is partnering with agencies and organizations, such as domestic violence services providers, special needs care services providers, and many other community-based direct support services, to help improve communication and enhance access to support for clients.

In the fall of 2020, OhanaLink Technologies™ developed OhanaLink Purple™ through a collaboration with domestic violence agencies in Western Pennsylvania. A true game-changer, OhanaLink Purple is a customized cloud-based service delivery system that is transforming the way agencies and advocates deliver services to victims of domestic abuse and their families.

“OhanaLink Purple is a first-in-the-market system that enables agencies to provide services to clients in a new way while also providing victims of domestic violence with safe, secure communication, resources, and tools,” said Kara Wasser, founder and CEO of OhanaLink Technologies. “We hope that having these safe communication tools and support systems available to domestic violence agencies and victims can make a difference.”

Additionally, OhanaLink Technologies has been helping health and human service agencies improve operational efficiencies and streamline communications in a single access point with its DirectConnect™ customizable mobile technology solution.

One of the agencies benefiting from DirectConnect™ is The Zion Education Center, Inc., based in Farrell, Pennsylvania. The Zion Education Center provides free pre-kindergarten, after-school programs, childcare food services, early childhood mental health, AmeriCorps for high school seniors, and workforce development for low-income mothers.

OhanaLink Technologies is collaborating with The Zion Education Center to design and launch a mobile app that will bring children and adolescents the support they need while integrating the center’s programs and creating a place where the staff can effectively collaborate and communicate with its clients.

These partnerships are just the beginning as OhanaLink Technologies continues to pave the way and fill the gap in providing nonprofits with new, cost-effective technology solutions they need to enhance their ability to serve clients.
