Join OhanaLink Technologies in Taking Action During Domestic Violence Awareness Month

During Domestic Violence Month, OhanaLink Technologies is committed to changing the game against domestic violence by providing a safe, private communication and support system for agencies to better coordinate resources with victims seeking services.
Additionally, OhanaLink Technologies is committed to raising awareness of the essential funding that domestic violence programs, survivors, and families rely on for safety and services throughout the United States. Currently, there is crucial federal legislation— the Family Violence Prevention and Services Act (FVPSA) Program—up for reauthorization by the U.S. Senate.
First authorized in 1984, FVPSA is administered by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and is the primary federal funding source devoted to supporting domestic violence shelters and programs. FVPSA supports lifesaving services for victims of domestic violence and their children, including emergency shelters, crisis hotlines, counseling, and programs for underserved communities throughout the United States, American Indian and Alaska Native communities, and territories.
According to the National Network to End Domestic Violence (NNEDV), more than 1,500 local domestic violence programs rely on FVPSA funding to keep their doors open to more than 1.3 million victims seeking safety each year.
FVPSA expired in 2015 and needs to be reauthorized with critical improvements to address the large gap between dire needs and available resources, including the immense need for better technology.
The U.S. House of Representatives already passed FVPSA in October 2021. So it is now up to the Senate to pass the re-authorization bill, S. 1275, and time is ticking.
As we raise awareness of domestic violence this month, will you join OhanaLink Technologies in reaching out to your Senators to support the bipartisan reauthorization of the Family Violence Prevention and Services Act?
Visit the National Domestic Violence Hotline’s Pass FVSPA Now website to take action now and send an email to your Senator urging them to vote yes on passage.
"The COVID-19 pandemic shed further light on the overwhelming need for better communication channels between community-based agencies providing victims' services. As we began to research how to create a solution designed to enhance communication, connectivity, and support, we discovered we had to work side-by-side with these agencies to ensure the resource would meet their needs and the survivors’ needs."
