OhanaLink Baby Just Got Better

When we first launched OhanaLink Baby, we knew two things for sure: This app would help connect families during one of the most beautiful times in their lives, and that the most important piece of our business is YOU! We heard from you, our valued customers, about ways to improve your user experience, and it’s now available.
So, what's happening?
We have migrated OhanaLink Baby into our brand new release, the OhanaLink app. The OhanaLink app features a complete suite of solutions all in one place! In the app, you’ll find:
- OhanaLink Baby
- OhanaLink Health
- OhanaLink Health Kids
All three include "waiting rooms" to ensure that you stay connected to your family - no matter what the healthcare event might be.
So, what’s the difference between them?
OhanaLink Baby
OhanaLink Baby provides connectivity through a private, mobile waiting room to create an enhanced, memorable childbirth experience. With OhanaLink Baby, expectant parents can connect with their closest circle of family and friends before, during, and after labor and delivery to share milestones and memories. You can now share your pregnancy journey privately while creating an experience you can cherish forever!
OhanaLink Health
OhanaLink Health offers a mobile waiting room connecting you or someone in your care to those you select during a health-related event, keeping everyone in the loop up-to-date with the most current and accurate information available - direct from the source - you! The app allows either the patient or advocate to create a room.
OhanaLink Health Kids
OhanaLink Health Kids allows family members to share the most current and accurate information on their child’s health status. It’s the perfect communication tool to aid patients and guests through communication challenges, including limited visitation in health care facilities and offices.
What we learned
During the pandemic of COVID-19, we became very familiar with the idea of having loved ones being isolated from their family to prevent the spread of this contagious virus. For the first time, we experienced the inability to visit a loved one in the hospital or care facility. Our concern heightened due to not knowing what was happening in real-time.
“You will find that in general, it is a no-visitor policy at most medical centers with the following exceptions: If it is a hospitalized minor, you are typically allowed one adult family member or guardian. Suppose it is a patient at the end of life. In that case, some ICU settings may allow one or two in the room if it’s not a coronavirus case,” explains Bret Nicks, MD, an emergency room doctor at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem, NC.
Although we can understand the reasoning behind the hospitals’ decisions, it created challenges for families to communicate with their loved ones and doctors. We wanted to make sure that you felt connected and engaged with your loved one during this time.
“I was excited to be able to download and begin to use the app a few months before Jack was born and then on delivery day. We only needed to post photos and announcements once so that everyone could have access! I love having the idea of having all of the communication in one place for anyone with the app and recommend it to anyone expecting a baby.” - Bethany (OhanaLink Baby user) from November 2020
We are committed to improving our user experience and have migrated OhanaLink Baby into our enhanced version featuring a complete suite of solutions all in one place. Thank you for staying with us on our journey!
