OhanaLink Purple - Our 1-Year Journey

A Message from our Founder and CEO

Today marks one year since we officially launched OhanaLink Purple to the market, I wanted to reflect on the journey, to show appreciation for our many supporters, to recognize the advocates who are in the trenches every day, and also to thank my amazing team who spent countless hours behind the scenes, bringing an idea to reality while making a profound impact on the issue of domestic violence in our communities.

Some of you may not know our story or the moment in time almost two years ago that set us on our mission to support the needs of victim service agencies and providers.

The “moment” appeared as a simple question posed to us by Lizette Olsen, the executive director of AWARE, a domestic violence agency in Mercer County, PA. But, in reality, it was the catalyst that focused our vision and started us on the pathway to develop innovative technology that is truly making a difference.

I have been both humbled and gratified to have been presented with this opportunity.  Over the past year +, our team has been immersed in crystalizing our knowledge base around the many challenges facing advocates and the victims/survivors of domestic abuse that they serve.  We have spoken with hundreds of agencies, market leaders, and organizations that provide victims’ services - locally, regionally and nationally.  It was through these discussions that we uncovered a critical gap in access to safe technology.  The launch of OhanaLink Purple 365 days ago was the culmination of both that immersion and those important discoveries.

Since that time, we have continued to expand our footprint across the U.S. as ambassadors for a new way of delivering services for victims and are so very grateful for the support from so many.  From the very first group of Western Pennsylvania domestic violence agency executive directors that took the leap of faith with us and found new funding sources for the development and the subsequent integration of OhanaLink Purple into their agency operations  - to our board of directors, our investors, our industry partners and collaborators including domesticshelters.org and findhelp.org and the many other advisors, advocates and champions, thank you for believing and for joining us on this journey.

I am especially grateful for my team for their individual contributions and unwavering commitment to our mission.  Without their passion and ability to bring their expertise and skills to the table even when things got tough, we would not be where we are today.

And the best part is that we have only just begun!  I invite you to continue to follow OhanaLink Technologies on our journey.  For more information about OhanaLink Purple, visit our website at www.ohanalink.com/purple and be sure to sign up for our OhanaLink Purple Connect newsletter to learn more about how we are working together to provide safe, secure digital delivery services to aid victims of domestic abuse.

Kara
